I feel privileged to be a pediatrician. My life’s passion is to maintain the health and well being of our most valuable resource, our children, our future. I love watching my patients grow up and enjoy helping parents navigate the sleepless baby days through the worries and growing pains of adolescence and young adulthood. We will guide you on feeding, sleeping, development, behavior, and safety according to the American Academy of Pediatrics and Bright Futures. For example, breastfeeding is best but being fed is the most important whether it is breastmilk or formula. Co-sleeping has increased the risk of Sudden Unexpected Infant Death. Car seats should be rear-facing until after the 2nd birthday. Antibiotics should not be used for coughing or colds. Vaccines are why we live longer. Vaccines continue to save lives and we expect everyone to be immunized according to the CDC and AAP schedule. Healthy eating is essential and now we know it is really important in the first 3 years of life. Reading makes every kiddo smarter and allows for interactive one on one time that makes your bond stronger. These are some of the many ways we can partner with you in helping your child grow up healthy and happy.
Our team is dedicated to high quality pediatric care and we are the only office in Topeka certified on our quality by the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA). We are certified as a Patient Centered Medical Home, Level 3, the highest level. We take care of your child when they are sick or well and are available 24/7. We are your resource and first call for any of your child’s health concerns from behavior problems to sleep, school, and sickness issues. We manage chronic health problems like obesity, ADHD, and asthma. Our practice uses the latest evidenced based guidelines. In other words our recommendations for your kiddo’s care are based on science.
